When starting any of these patterns and experiencing some difficulty in execution I recommend practicing some Basic Beginner Crochet Stitches. For most beginners it can be confusing to choose an ideal hook for each project or even which yarn to use for certain pieces.
Notes
Always weave ends as you go along. You don’t want to end up with more than 10 squares with a yarn tail that needs to be bent.
If you are unsure about which color yarn to start with, create about three different colored granny squares and figure out which color is best for your project.
